Do you remember the days when you could just go outside and find plenty of kids to play a simple game of tag with? Well those days seemed to have ended for me. The other day on Halloween night after trick-or-treating me and Candice went to a friends house for a chance to hang out. During this time the collective teens who were there, traded candy, talked about the outrageous costumes seen that night and threw unwanted candy (saltwater taffy/tootsie rolls) at each other.
Once we were all hyped up on sugar, I had the great idea to go outside and play ghost in the graveyard (for directions, Google the said name). That idea was taken with great enthusiasm, which was dashed when we figured we would be unable to play due to the fact there was a fence encircling the yard. So we decided to play just plain hide and seek, which then turned into hide and seek tag, which then turned into more of a hybrid due to the fact that half of the people were afraid of slipping if they ran because of wet ground. Then, we had to put limits on where people could run IF they didn't have wetgroundaphobia. THEN there had to be a " safe" which turned into a place everyone who was hiding tried to get to and where you had to stay till the end of the game, instead of a temporary spot of safety. Oh yeah AND since some of the girls didn't want to look for people by themselves they had to have partners. The game of tag evolved into a game of what is now called... hide-and-seek-tag-but-don't-run-if-you-don't-want-to-slip-and-you-have-to-make-it-to-the-goal-before-the-seekers-get-bored-or-you-will-be-hiding-all-night-while-they-go-back-inside-and-eat-pizza-together-because-girls-are-too-scared-to-go-anywhere-without-a-partner, game. Sound fun?

aw, growin' up stinks :-)
I highly suggest avoiding it altogether.
By the way, you have perfectly described the way so many good intentions of adults spiral out of control into TOO MANY RULES...and then it's not fun anymore.
I agree... I really wish there was a way to avoid it, oh wait if only I could fly to Neverland.
Too many rules is never a good thing.
RiRi - great writing. Your style reminds me of your Aunt Heathwad.
Thanks!! Thats a complement I wont forget.

i hate rulz, but sometimes they are for your own good. anyway, you should have just taken charge: "you!, over there! no! you can only stay on safe for a certain amount of time! i dont care if you dont want to slip!RUN! you are ruining this game!"
"i give up!"
lol, you make me happy.
